Local Missions

God’s Kingdom is ever expanding as He continues to draw men to Himself. As an extension of His hands and feet, His children are called and privileged to reach out to those in need and to those who have not come to know Him yet. The church is not a building, but is a people whom God has changed and commissioned to love the world as He does.

Cornerstone does that locally by meeting needs through several opportunities such as, the Jail Ministry, the Weaver House Ministry, and the Food (Blue Barrel) Ministry.

Homeless Men’s Ministry

Homeless Men’s Ministry: Ten Wednesday nights: January-March

Winter Emergency (WE!) shelters have been established at several congregations to help shelter an additional 100 homeless people during the winter months as an extension of Urban Ministries. WE! sites provide (from December 1-April 1) a safe, comfortable place for homeless men and women to spend the night.

Cornerstone is partnering with Pleasant Garden Baptist to provide and serve meals to men Wednesday evenings. Other churches are also helping other days during the winter weeks. Help cook in our FLC and/or help serve at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church afterwards. Families are welcome, but space is limited for serving.

Please contact Forrest (forrest@cornerstonesbc.org or 665-1944) if you are willing to help so we can get these scheduled. This is an awesome ministry and opportunity to physically and practically share and show the love of Christ. Typically we are finished at Pleasant Garden around 9:30.

Every Sat @ 9:00 – Jail Ministry Visits

Every Saturday @ 9:00 AM a group from Cornerstone participates in the Jail Ministry at the Guilford County Jail. Visit the Jail Ministry page for more details.
